Services
Services I can provide.
Three services, available individually on contract, fixed-scope or part-time terms. Every engagement is scoped and priced before it starts. No platform, no retainer, no lock-in.
Presales & solutions consulting
Technical sales support, without the full-time hire.
If demos aren't landing, POCs drift for months and every serious sales call needs an engineer pulled off the roadmap, you don't have a sales problem. You have a translation problem.
I've spent seven-plus years in enterprise B2B SaaS presales and solutions consulting turning technical products into closed deals: discovery that surfaces the requirement behind the requirement, demos built around the buyer's workflow rather than your feature list, and POCs designed with success criteria that force a decision.
You can also put me in front of people. Demos, conferences, webinars and customer meetings are where most of my career has been spent, so I am comfortable representing your company to the standard you would want: approachable, confident and credible with technical and commercial audiences alike.
Bring me in for a single must-win deal, ongoing account management, a quarter of pipeline, or a fixed slice of every week.
Engagement:Part-time (1–2 days a week) or per-deal · day rate
What you get
- Demo environments and scripts built around buyer workflows
- POC design, delivery and success criteria that force a decision
- RFP and tender responses
- Technical discovery frameworks your team keeps
- Objection-handling playbooks for the hard technical questions
- Hands-on sales assistance: deal support and account management
- A client-facing presence at demos, conferences and webinars
Commercialisation & go-to-market
The commercial groundwork: positioning, pricing, first sales motion.
Scientific founders rarely fail on the science. They fail on positioning nobody outside the lab understands, pricing set by guesswork, and a sales motion that amounts to hoping the next conference goes well.
I've built and sold B2B products end-to-end as a co-founder, and I work founder-side: a tight ideal customer profile, a sales narrative that survives contact with sceptical buyers, pricing you can defend line by line, and the first version of a repeatable sales motion your team can actually run.
Engagement:Typically 2–6 weeks · fixed fee
What you get
- Positioning and ideal customer profile
- Sales narrative, first pitch deck and core collateral
- Pricing structure with the rationale written down
- Early sales motion design: qualification, sequences, pipeline stages
- A 90-day commercial plan with owners and numbers
Applied ML & prototype development
Find out what your data can do before you hire a team to do it.
Most ML initiatives stall in the gap between a promising idea and evidence it works. I build proof-of-concept models and pipelines, imaging and classification in particular, with explainability designed in from the start. Then I wrap them in working software your stakeholders can click, not a notebook they have to take on trust.
My own research is medical imaging classification conducted in clinical collaboration with an NHS hospital, which means building for the hardest audience there is: clinicians who will not accept a black box.
You also get the reading most vendors won't give you: whether it's feasible, what the data actually supports, and what production would genuinely take.
Engagement:Typically 4–8 weeks · fixed fee or day rate
What you get
- Working prototype: model, pipeline and interface
- Explainability outputs (e.g. Grad-CAM) where decisions need justifying
- Technical documentation and a reproducible training and evaluation setup
- An honest feasibility read: what works, what doesn't, what production takes
Process
How engagements work
Every service runs on the same terms: scoped, priced and agreed before it starts.
Discovery call
Thirty minutes on what you're trying to move and whether I'm the right person for it. If I'm not, I'll say so and point you somewhere better.
Scoped proposal
Deliverables, timeline and price in writing before anything starts, as a fixed fee or day rate. No discovery phases that exist to sell the next phase.
The work
You work directly with me: short feedback loops, progress you can see weekly, and no account layer between you and the person doing the work.
Defined deliverables
You keep everything: documents, code, frameworks, materials. Your team knows how to use them after I've gone.
Next step
Talk through a service.
A thirty-minute call is enough to tell whether I can help. If I can, you'll get a scoped proposal: defined deliverables, a fixed fee or day rate, and a start date. If I can't, I'll say so on the call.
Open to short-term contracts, fixed-scope projects and part-time roles.
